Master's Program Applicants in Asian Studies

I. Eligibility for Application

* International applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

1. Holder of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or is expected to receive a Bachelor’s degree before the end of the admission period of the term the applicant is applying to)

2. A non-Korean national whose parents are BOTH non-Korean nationals.

1. Completed application form - Print out after completing the online application.

2. Three (3) recent (within the last 3 months) passport-sized photos

* An official copy of undergraduate transcript(s)
* Certificate of a Bachelor's Degree / Undergraduate School Graduation Certificate
NOTE: If you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, you should submit an official document that indicates your expected date of graduation. Any document that is not in Korean or English must be translated into Korean or English and notarized before submission.

Note: Transcripts and certificates from Chinese universities MUST be accompanied by verification from the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education Development Center. For details, please refer to: http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn

5. Additional materials for applicants to programs in Fine Arts, Music and Physical Education to demonstrate their talent in the respective areas (a portfolio, photographs of own works, recordings of own performances, etc.)

7. A copy of the applicant's passport (or other official document indicating the applicant’s nationality)

8. A copy of the applicant’s alien registration card (applicable to international applicants residing in Korea at the time of application)

10. Copies of both parents' passports (or other official documents indicating parents' nationality)

11. An official copy of document indicating parent-child relationship between the applicant and his/her parents

12. Verification of Deposit (VOD): The applicant’s or the sponsor’s VOD of a minimum of USD 10,000 (maintained for at least 1 month) OR a certificate of remittance or money exchange of USD10,000
If you don't have the bank statement with a minimum of USD 10,000, it can be substituted with the financial support form from your tutor professor at Sejong University.
Financial Support Form http://www.sejong.ac.kr/eng/03admi/img/icon_file.gifshould be signed by your tutor professor and submitted to the Center for International Students and Scholars.

Note: Additional supporting documents (bank statements, employment / business registration, tax payment information) may be required by the authorities for visa issuance. Financial Support form may not be acceptable.

 

All documents must be original except where specified otherwise. Where the original is not available and a copy is being submitted, it must be certified by the originating institution before it is submitted.
 

Any document that is not in Korean or English must be accompanied by a notarized Korean or English translation. Please submit the original document as well

Submission of Required Documents

1. After completing your online application, print out the completed Application and the Application Checklist.
2. Please mark and place the Application Checklist in front of the application packet and arrange the application materials in the order listed on the Checklist.
3. Send your application packet
via registered mail , along with the required documents to the following address:

Important Notes for All Applicants

All documents must be in English or Korean. Documents in another language must be accompanied by a notarized English or Korean translation.

If any of the submitted materials contains false information, admission will be rescinded.

All documents must be original except where specified otherwise. Where the original is not available and a copy is being submitted, it must be certified by the originating institution before it is submitted.

Be sure to make and keep photocopies of all completed forms. Submitted documents become the property of SU and will not be returned to the applicants. The application fee is non-refundable.

Admitted students may not defer enrollment to a later semester. Students who wish to defer enrollment must re-apply.

Be sure to understand that the University issues only the Certificate of Admissions for student visa (Type: D2) application for the admitted students.

The Verification of Academic Record form should be submitted with part of the application.

A detailed account of any individual admissions decision will not be disclosed.

Please be reminded that, in principle, any modification or cancellation will not be accepted after completing the application.

Applicants will take full responsibility for any disadvantages due to mistakes or omissions on the application.
